Key items on Shawn’s Agenda:

Economic Development and Enhancement: Shawn’s goal is to work closely with the Clayton County Commissioners, Chamber of Commerce, and City Council and work to attract new businesses to the district. He will work with the Clayton State College to increase ways to help graduating students find employment within the district.

Transportation: Shawn’s goal is to work on the ongoing crisis concerning C-Tran within the district and to focus on increasing employment and business opportunities in the community. Shawn will work with the local political and business leaders to find efficient and immediate solutions to this problem. These solutions would possibly consist of more opportunities for proper funding of MARTA.

Crime: Shawn has had conversations with the Police Chief, the Sheriff and other city and county officials about focusing resources on the crime and gang activity in the district and finding ways to increase police presence. He is also working with local fire departments to ensure that our families and properties are safe and that our fire safety professionals are properly prepared and compensated.

Ethics in Government: Shawn has heard a growing concern for integrity in our government from his conversations with constituents and local leaders. Shawn’s mission is to assure transparency and accountability in our local and state governments, and to be an advocate for the responsible spending of your money.

Senior citizens and Veterans: Shawn’s mission is to address the growing need for senior citizen assistance programs and the help for veterans and our serving military. As a veteran himself, it is a personal goal to expand the programs within the county.
