Who is Shawn James?...................... I am your Democratic candidate for House District 75 and I want to earn your support and vote. I enjoy sharing my story with fellow Georgians. I am the older of two children, born in Chicago, IL and I also grew up in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Raised by two awesome parents who were married for over 25 plus years, they were determined to provide our family with a foundation centered in faith, family, and community. This has been the cornerstone to raise my 10 year old daughter in a Christian home with traditional conservative values.

I graduated from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, SC and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. I participated in Operation Desert Storm in 1990 and was a decorated soldier for meritorious service and achievement. Through my vast experiences in the military I have served in numerous leadership capacities. As a veteran of the U.S. Army I truly understand the needs for our veterans and current soldiers in Georgia.

Currently, I am completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Managment at American Intercontinental Univ.

My current profession consists of being a real estate investor and property manager. Over the last 15 years as an entrepreneur in business I  know how to build teams for success, build organizations to accomplish goals and I have a proven track record of leadership in numerous management and supervisory capacities.

I am active in several organizations that enrich my life professionally and personally. Conscious Movement Entertainment, an organization that assists the homeless and does a number of community assistance programs. V.S.S.O, www.veteransso.org ,and Plymouth Rock # 86 P.H.A located on historic Auburn Avenue in downtown Atlanta.

I attend Open Word Christian Ministries church located in Fairburn, Georgia, where I have been an active member for several years.

Clayton County is my home and I am excited to offer myself as a candidate to the district that I have grown to appreciate and love. I am asking District 75 to join me in this movement for CHANGE.
